The COST EsSENce Action Science Communication Coordinator was informed by the COST Academy that the third webinar of the series is organized focusing on the work and topics of COST Actions from multiple fields. This webinar will be presented by COST Action CA19128 Pan-European Network for Climate Adaptive Forest Restoration and Reforestation (PEN-CAFoRR) and will take place on Friday 21 April, 11:00-12:00 CET. The webinar will focus on the need for accelerating restoration and reforestation programs, which may increase the ability of forests to mitigate climate change. As more than two billion hectares of degraded areas worldwide need restoration, with timely reforestation lagging in many countries and conflicting interests fuelling the debate on what constitutes success and appropriate forest management objectives, the PEN-CAFoRR COST Action aims to address the entire cycle of restoration and reforestation to broaden and disseminate scientific knowledge on the topic.
